How long have you been skating? 2 ½ years

Why did you get involved in roller derby? I have always been an athlete, and after college, I was so sad to not be able to play basketball anymore. After checking out roller derby with some fans, I remember thinking I could do that. I attended the next open practice and have been completely hooked ever since.

How often do you practice? 3 nights/week, 2 hours/night

What Pads do you use? 187 roller derby pads for knees, elbows and wrists

What Helmet do you use? cheapo one from Academy Sports

What skates do you use? Riddell R2s

What were your first pair of skates? Cheapo ones from

Where did your nick name come from? I am tall and studied French in high school. I’ve always wanted to go to France and found the name fitting.

What is your favourite part about being a Roller girl? The physicality of it. The way it pushes and tests my limits. Being a role model for young girls.

Any top tips for up and coming Derby Superstars? Give it time. Everything takes time to click. Work hard. Put in your time, and it’ll pay you back.
