Derby Name:
Iron Giant

Derby Team:
Hulls Angels Roller Dames (HARD)

Clinical Support Worker

How long have you been skating?
14 months

Why did you get involved in roller derby?
A friend (Harlequim, also of HARD) asked me if I fancied giving it a go. So I did!

How often do you practice?
Three times a week with HARD and once a week with The Inhuman League when I can.

What Pads do you use?
Triple 8 wrists, ProTec elbows and Scabs knees. Hoping to upgrade all of them soon though.

What Helmet do you use?
Triple 8 helmet. Again, new one soon as it’s too big for my pea head!

What skates do you use?
Sure Grip GT-50s

What were your first pair of skates?
Anarchy Mayhems

Where did your nick name come from?
Well I’m only 4ft10 so seemed appropriate, and Iron Giant is my fella’s (Roller Polar Bear of HARD and TIL) favourite film.

What is your favourite part about being a Roller girl?
My amazing teammates! I’ve met some really fantastic people through derby.

Any top tips for up and coming Derby Superstars?
Push yourself! Use your fellow skaters to gain as much knowledge as you can. Train at every opportunity you can. Work hard, play hard, skate HARD!!
