How long have you been skating?
Roller skating as a child before joining roller derby one year ago. Ice skating for 18 years
Why did you get involved in roller derby?
I wanted to find a sport that would keep me physically active, fast passed, and ultimately fun to play. I choose roller derby, because it is a team sport where the players are all friends and support each other, on and off the track.
How often do you practice?
Three times a week with the team. I also work out twice a week, between my busy school and work schedule.
What Pads do you use?
My elbow and knee pads are 187, my wrist guards are triple eights

What were your first pair of skates?
My first pair of skates as a child at age 5 was a pair of Chicago roller skates. Then a pair of Riedell ice skates, and when I got into roller derby I continued using Riedell.
Where did your nick name come from?
N/A We skate under our legal names
What is your favorite part about being a Roller girl?
All aspects of the playing sport, it is athletic and fun, but I would have to say the best part is the people. Everyone involved in derby is positive, and enthusiastic about the sport, which keeps it exciting. All the people that I meet playing scrimmages and games keeps the sport alive. As a player on the Charlotte Speed Demons, I have a wonderful group of girls that I get to skate with, and an amazing team of coaches!
Any top tips for up and coming Derby Superstars?
Keep working hard, and don’t give up! With practice and dedication you can do anything you set your mind to! The great thing about derby is that everyone has a place they fit in. There are different positions, which require different strengths, therefore figure out your talent, and work it!
