How long have you been skating?
I have been skating for just under 6 months.

Why did you get involved in roller derby?
I had known about roller derby for a few years and when I saw there was a team in York I spoke to a friend I knew who was part of the team. She said it was one of the best things she has done, so I joined and she was right.

How often do you practice?
We practice twice a week, two hours a session.

What Pads do you use?
At the moment I use Anarchy pads, they are great for new skaters. As soon as I pass min skills ill be treating myself to new pads.

What Helmet do you use?
I have a shiny blue target helmet.

What skates do you use?
Riedell R3 speed skates.

What were your first pair of skates?
My Riedell R3’s

Where did your nick name come from?
As well as my full time job, I also volunteer with the Air Training Corps (ATC) cadets. I am an Adult Sgt and I look after 13-19 year old cadets. I love being part of this organisation as I have almost been part of it for 10 years. My name Millie Terry comes from the Military connection I have with the ATC.

What is your favourite part about being a Roller girl?
My favourite part of being a roller girl is my derby family. This a sport that was originally just for women, I can’t think of many that are. Its great to be part of team who are so close, its not just a sport it’s a life style.

Any top tips for up and coming Derby Superstars?
Just get stuck in, your team will always be there to cheer you on and pick you back up. Because we all need to remember It’s better to be knocked down then be knocked up!
