Office Studmuffin

How long have you been skating?
since March 2012

Why did you get involved in roller derby?
My lovely boyfriend and his bandmates shot a video with some ladies from LRD (see it here if you want! They made it look so easy and fun, I thought I’d go along to a more local practice and I’ve been hooked ever since.

How often do you practice?
Twice a week, thrice if I can!

What Pads do you use?
187’s all over baby! The derby pro knees are like falling on clouds made of kittens and joy.

What Helmet do you use?
A sexy translucent TSG with my name and number written in my opponents blood!

What skates do you use?
Riedell R3 skates, awaiting the derby fairy to drop a nice pair of renos under my xmas tree *crosses fingers*.

What were your first pair of skates?
Anarchy Havocs. Dodged that bullet.

Where did your nick name come from?
Oh it’s a long-un. Stevie like Stevie Nicks (because she’s my favourite and my middle name is Stevie/Stephanie). Styx as in the river from Greek mythology that forms the boundary between earth and hell (because it’s badass). ‘N’ Pwns because I like to think I have the capacity to pwn sometimes and because Styx ‘nâ’ Pwns sort of sounds like sticks and stones.

What is your favourite part about being a Roller girl?
Scrimming with the hotties! I frequently find myself somewhat overwhelmed by the talent on my team and have to try tone down the fangirl inside BUT I REALLY CAN’T HELP IT WHEN THEY’RE ALL SO DARN GOOD.

Any top tips for up and coming Derby Superstars?
YEAH! Watch out for Clar-Mar Superstar! Her hits are like colliding with walls made of hell and concrete.
